     Welcome to TimeLog

If you are familiar with the TimePage - Cycles in U.S. History website then you know that it is a discussion of social cycles and, in particular, how they have affected and been affected by historical events in the United States. TimeLog is a place for you and I (the TimePage webmaster) to discuss these ideas as well as to share knowledge of U. S. History and interesting new and related information. It is also a place where I can post information about the TimePage and you can let me know if you have any complaints or suggestions relating to the site iteself. Please join in the discussion (registration and login required) and let us know what you think.

Even though it just about over I think it is worth mentioning that March has been declared the official Women's History Month. The Library of Congress has put together a great site to honor the occasion. The site has many links and other resources dedicated both to the event and the women who inspired it.

A couple of years ago I, as the Webmaster of timepage.org, decided I needed a weblog (blog) to deal with the communication and support aspects of the website.   I had fooled around with popular online blog offerings and thought I could make a go of it.  The result was the TimeLog Blog .  The original intent was to handle discussions about the TimePage and to serve as a depository for related information that I found on the web.  Eventually I started to build a "Today in History" collection and even decided to split the TimePage business off onto another blog.  This has not been totally satisfying, however, and I have decided to regroup.  The result is a new version of the TimeLog called, logically, TimeLog2 which is where you are now.  Below the fold I will discuss some of the reasons why I am changing and share some of my expectations for the new blog.
